Itinerary:

Thursday, May 21: Arrive Reykjavik, Iceland

On arrival to Keflavik International Airport, transfer to the Hotel Borg, your luxury accommodations in the heart of colorful Reykjavik.

  • 2:00 PM: Join your hosts and fellow guests for a walking tour of Iceland's vibrant capital.  Explore both the contemporary and traditional sides of this coastal city:  You'll stop by Reykjavik's best bakery, visit the beautiful Hallgrímskirkja church: the city's most prominent landmark and take in all the sites that Reykjavik has to offer.

  • 6:00 PM: Welcome Dinner at a local Restaurant

Friday, May 22: The Golden Circle

  • After breakfast, we'll depart on the famous and incredible Golden Circle Tour.  On this full day experience, you'll visit some of Iceland's most beautiful sites including: Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir and Thingvellir National Park.  Along the way, we will have lunch at an organic tomato farm and you'll even get get to experience  a local dairy farm.

  • 6:00 PM: Return to the Hotel Borg where dinner is at your leisure or join your hosts for a casual dinner at a local restaurant in Reykjavik (Dinner is at your own expense)

Saturday, May 23: Snæfellsnes Peninsula Tour

  • After breakfast, we'll visit the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Iceland.  From lava to craters and volcanoes, the landscape is unlike anything else!  On this full day tour, you'll walk on top of a volcanic crater, visit a small fishing village, marvel at stunning waterfalls and taste some of Iceland's local cuisine.

Sunday, May 24: South Coast Tour

  • After breakfast, we'll explore the stunning South Coast of Iceland, the area where the Vikings first arrived.  On this full day tour, you'll visit some amazing scenery and even hike to the top of Skógafoss waterfall for an incredible view.  You'll enjoy the afternoon with a walk on Iceland's enchanting Black Sand Beach known for its enormous basalt stacks, roaring Atlantic waves and stunning panoramas.

  • 7:00 PM: Farewell Dinner at a local Reykjavik restaurant

Monday, May 25: Departure

  • Transfer to Reykjavik's Keflavik Airport for your flight home

Please note that Solo Escapes does not include the Blue Lagoon in its Iceland itinerary.  If interested in experiencing the Blue Lagoon, we recommend visiting the Blue Lagoon on the morning on the date of arrival prior to checking in to your accommodations or on the date of departure, prior to boarding your flight.
